Le Voyage
Zippered Travel Pouch · Negonda Full-Grain · YKK Excella zip · suede-lined
Le Voyage — the journey — is the maison's flat travel pouch, sized to carry passport, two folded boarding cards, a folded receipt envelope, and a single watch wrap. Cut from Tärnsjö Negonda full-grain, a Swedish slow-drum vegetable-tanned calfskin reserved by the major maisons for their travel range.
The interior is whole-hide suede, tonal to the exterior, hand-stitched at the gusset. The closure is a YKK Excella zipper — the highest-tier metal zipper YKK manufactures — fitted with a custom gold-finish slider engraved with the four-pointed maison mark. Hand-saddle-stitched along its length in tonal Fil au Chinois · Lin Cable, hand-waxed at the bench; the solid 18k gold maison mark is set into the front face at the lower right.

Tärnsjö Negonda is a Swedish slow-drum vegetable-tanned full-grain calfskin produced by Tärnsjö Garveri in central Sweden, working with hides drawn from the local Nordic herd. Its grain is dense and slightly cooler in tone than the Tuscan veg-tans worked elsewhere across the capsule, with a tighter pebble structure that holds its shape in flat panels — the property that recommends it for travel pieces, which spend most of their working life loaded flat in a brief or carry-on. Read more in the Leather Guide.
The hide will gloss along the zipper line and at the corners over the first dozen journeys, and within a year will read as a piece that has begun its life in earnest. This is, to the maison's mind, the point of a travel piece.
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after each journey. Empty the pouch when storing — left full and creased, the leather will hold the crease. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and humidity; if the pouch is checked, place it inside a cabin bag rather than packing it within. Condition lightly once a year with a neutral leather balm.
All ATELIER ZEN-Ō pieces carry a lifetime atelier care guarantee. Re-stitching, zipper re-fitting, and edge re-finishing are performed at the studio at no additional cost for the original owner. Inquire at info@atelierzeno.com.
Each piece leaves the atelier in a presentation that is itself a small piece of work — assembled by hand, sealed by hand, and intended to be kept by the owner alongside the piece it carries.

Le Voyage is hand-built by a single artisan, from the cut of the gusset to the final burnish of the zipper-tape edge. The lining is set, the zipper is fitted, and the perimeter is stitched in a single uninterrupted day at the bench.
The story of the maison's origin, including the four-pointed mark engraved into the slider, is told in Issue Nº 02 of the journal.
