La Petite
Mini Crossbody · Luxury Pebbled Calf · adjustable strap · suede-lined · solid 18k gold mark
La Petite — the small one — is the daytime crossbody the atelier built for the working week. The exterior is a luxury pebbled full-grain calfskin: a dense, slightly textured grain that hides surface scratches, holds its shape across years, and develops a quiet sheen at the corners and along the strap pass. The interior is whole-hide suede, hand-stitched at all internal seams.
The strap is adjustable in twenty-millimetre increments and can be set anywhere from a shoulder drop to a crossbody drop. The turnlock is 18k gold-plated brass, individually struck in the atelier and hand-engraved with the four-pointed mark. The solid 18k gold maison mark is set into the front face at the lower right, recessed flush with the leather.

The pebbled calfskin worked on La Petite is a luxury full-grain hide, drum-rolled to develop the small, irregular pebble texture that defines the daytime bag in the major French maisons. The texture is the leather's own — not embossed, not pressed — and reads more deeply on the corners and at the bag's belly than at the back panel. Over years of use, the highest points of the pebble will gloss; the recesses will hold the original matte. Read more in the Leather Guide.
Pebbled calf is the most forgiving of the bag leathers — a quality the atelier values in a piece designed to be carried daily, set down on tables in restaurants and the corners of taxi seats, and asked to hold its line for a decade.
Wipe with a soft dry cloth weekly. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and water. The pebbled grain disguises minor scratches; do not attempt to sand or buff out marks. Condition lightly once a year with a neutral leather balm. Polish the brass turnlock, when it dulls, with a soft cloth — never with abrasive pads.
All ATELIER ZEN-Ō bags carry a lifetime atelier care guarantee. Re-stitching, edge re-finishing, hardware re-polishing, and lining re-conditioning are performed at the studio at no additional cost for the original owner. Inquire at info@atelierzeno.com.
Each piece leaves the atelier in a presentation that is itself a small piece of work — assembled by hand, sealed by hand, and intended to be kept by the owner alongside the piece it carries.

La Petite is hand-built by a single artisan over the course of four working days. The hardware is struck and engraved by hand in the atelier; the strap is hand-set; the lining is whole-hide and stitched at every internal seam.
The story of the maison's origin, including the four-pointed mark struck into the turnlock, is told in Issue Nº 02 of the journal.
