La Ligne — the line — is the dress belt the atelier's artisans wear themselves: 30 millimetres at the dress width, full-grain, hand-saddle-stitched along its length, and finished with a solid hand-cast brass buckle. Each strap is hand-selected and hand-cut from Conceria Walpier Vacchetta Minerva, the slow-drum vegetable-tanned shoulder leather Walpier reserves for accessories that will be worn against the body for decades.
The buckle is solid brass — not plated steel, not zinc — cast in a single mould, drilled, polished, and aged by hand. It will warm in colour over years of wear and develop a rich satin finish that mirrors the leather alongside it. The solid 18k gold maison mark is recessed at the inside tip of the strap, visible only when the belt is removed.

Vacchetta Minerva is the slow-drum vegetable-tanned shoulder leather produced by Conceria Walpier — the tannery's most esteemed accessory leather, distinguished from their Buttero by a longer tanning cycle, a denser temper, and a more pronounced capacity for patina. On a belt, where the leather flexes daily but never stretches under load, this temper is the difference between a strap that holds its line for decades and one that softens out of shape in a year. Each belt strap is hand-selected at the atelier from full hides, with the cut placed across the strongest fibre alignment of the shoulder. The grain is the original outer skin of the hide — neither sanded nor coated. Over years of daily wear, the strap will gloss at the buckle pass and at the keepers, and will deepen by two or three shades against the original colour.
Wipe the strap with a soft dry cloth weekly. Avoid prolonged exposure to water and direct sunlight. Polish the brass buckle, when it dulls, with a soft cloth and a microscopic amount of brass polish — never with steel wool or abrasive pads. Condition the leather lightly once a year with a neutral leather balm; over-conditioning will soften the strap below its intended temper.

Domestic shipping within the United States is sent signed, priority, and fully tracked, with insurance and signature on delivery. Overnight and 1–2 day expedited transport are available upon request, quoted at confirmation. International shipping is arranged individually and quoted at confirmation. Each La Ligne belt is hand-cut, hand-stitched, and hand-finished by a single artisan, beginning to end. The buckle is fitted, set, and polished by the same hands that cut the strap.
